It turned out to be a week-long celebration, which, for someone who has only been alive for 156 weeks, is a long time. It began last weekend, with a visit from Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Lynn:
There was a party with friends, a ladybug cake, and plenty of presents.
You know it’s a good party when everybody ends up fully clothed in the wading pool, blowing bubbles.
A couple of favorite presents: a “playground” for our backyard, and a life-jacket for our trip to the Outer Banks next month:
Last night we had bean burritos for dinner – a current favorite -and I let her pick out a cookie from the bakery at the store, since we’d already had cake last weekend. There were plenty more presents from relatives all over the country, and then a skype call with Granny and Granddad. She went to bed singing “Happy Birthday” to herself.
A good kid, that one. I’m sure glad she was born.
